Cameron's reported response to Kirkbride's standing down proves him unfit as an MP let alone as Opposition Leader.

Update! Here is what Vapid said, as reported in the Telegraph, more than living up to that nickname:

The BBC earlier reported that he went much further than this, I will try to obtain a more complete version, or possibly he has back-tracked.

Since your student days you've been a valiant fighter for the Conservative party. Though today must seem a very dark day, I know that you have so much to offer in the future.

The public are rightly angry at what has happened over MPs' expenses. If we are to rebuild trust in politics, it is essential that there is thorough and urgent reform. But it is also extremely important that part of that reform should include better ways of enabling women to combine the roles of politician and mother.

I hope that you and Andrew will, in the coming months, be able to start the process of rebuilding your lives.

What planet is Cameron living upon? Fifty thousand pounds of tax payers money to build a bedroom for her brother to live in rent free with all the other abuses of taxpayer funds by this miserable couple! Unbelievable!! To then say this:

Cameron's stance on Kirkbride surely debases women

As I understand David Cameron's stance on Maggot MP Andrew MacKay and his Maggot MP wife, who calls herself Julie Kirkbride, she is in the clear over the "no-first home situation" that involved them both, purely because she took the word of her husband on the matter.

Pushing women as he does on to the Conservative Candidate list one must wonder if constituency selection procedures should perhaps in future give more consideration to the stature of married female candidate's husbands than to the candidates themselves if they are apparently incapable of handling their own expenses.

Are female Tory MP so shallow and incapable that they are to be considered unable to form their own value judgements on their own expense claims - says little for their ability to consider legislation!

An extraordinary set back for the women's movement I would have thought.

A pledge rendered meaningless by a cunning full stop.

I listened to Cameron's speech on the re-distribution of power and as predicted it was clever but crap.

How will the conspiratorial Conservatives disguise the fact that they will do nothing about our almost complete loss of sovereignty (certainly of self-governance) to the EU, I wondered, when it came to reporting the oh so heavily hedged commitments in print?

Not long to wait as it turned out, for here already from the web site of the party itself, linked here, comes this devious ruse:

He warned that people feel “increasingly powerless” and “at the mercy of powerful elites that preside over them” – and outlined plans for a “massive, sweeping, radical redistribution of power”:

Notice the full stop? And this in a speech from a party pledging openness and pledging transparency. I suspect that all this is to divert attention from the fact that it is today the sixth anniversary of the unveiling of the Constitutional Treaty, widely ignored everywhere else but to be covered in detail on Ironies Too.

Missed the full stop and its implication let me illustrate:

“From the state to citizens; from the government to parliament; from Whitehall to communities. From Brussels to Britain; from judges to the people; from bureaucracy to democracy.”

Why not a continuation of the two earlier semi colons? We all know why! Because the lying toads are conning us again!

The second sentence of the above quotation has no meaning whatsoever in English as it has been punctuated!

If they really planned to do anything about the EU why is it not in their manifesto for 4th June, down-loadable in all its complete emptiness, also from their website. (Hint don't bother!).

What a shameless bunch they have become, first can't efficiently fiddle their exes, second can't efficiently disguise an obvious untruth.

CAMERON! You are all crooks for drawing full pay for a quarter of a job!

All the proposals rolled out by Cameron for reforming Parliament today are rubbish!

All the expense fiddles shade into insignificance when every MP draws full pay and a fat pension for doing only a quarter of a job. The rest has been given away to the EU. Nothing has been given in return.

Anybody looking around can see that their country is now controlled by German, French and Scottish interests! All this and without the clearly promised Referendum on the new Constitutional arrangements now planned via the Lisbon Treaty.

These obvious realities render all who continue to sit in Parliament to be perceived as crooked shysters, for it was the opposition's job to hold the Government to their own manifesto promise, by extreme pressure on Labour MPs who should have been warned of the inevitable consequences now beinning.

The proposals of Cameron on reform of Parliament are pure garbage, for Parliament has been neutered and sold off by our two main political parties, cheered on by the Liberal/Democrats and out negotiated at every step by our continental neighbours.

I am blogging on Ironies Too, over the next day or two, on the treachery carried out over the referendum, as it is now the sixth anniversary of my initial reactions on Ironies to the proposed EU constitution. Six years of continuing betrayal - how time flies!

David Cameron stated yesterday "... if you share our values come and be a Conservative candidate.”

What values might they be? I wondered as Cameron uttered this latest glib gimmick on the Andrew Marr Show yesterday morning.

David Cameron, or just plain vapid as this blog likes to occasionally refer to him, has no obvious values whatsoever. He has ambition, the burning desire to be Prime Minister which might be considered commendable by some, particularly as he so vividly and frequently gives evidence of the fact that he lacks any single character attribute for such a job! But values? No way, I thought so I have sought guidance from the Party's web site, linked here.

Sure enough, all kinds of policies and statements about what will be accomplished, talk of war rooms etc., but not a single word about this alien concept for the Cameroon's which must have sounded so alluring in preparing for the TV Studio - VALUES! At one point I found a link stating "Where we stand" but when it is clicked all we get is "Void" the item being merely a heading for all kinds of specific nonsense with narry a value, let alone a principle, in sight.

If you visit the "People" page on the web site, just before the smiling faces of Cameron's motley crew appear you are greeted with the message "Wide Branding Image" very apt..... perhaps Dave should have said to Marr "....if you share our wide branding image come and be a Conservative candidate."

In fact if one searched for an antonym to what Cameron stands for, VALUES would be way up there with the front runners.

Were I not already dissuaded from considering throwing my hat into the ring for a Conservative candidature by the ghastly thought that one would need to be a "team player" with the dross with which Cameron has surrounded himself, then the misuse of this word and the sheer effrontery of this man's ignorance of what it means, would certainly deter me.

The above is the headline for a discussion yesterday on Conservative Home Blog after the named Tory MP has been caught claiming for wreaths he laid on Remembrance Sunday.

The topic has gathered 105 comments so far, but none seem to quite gather the real tragedy, that this action does not shame Cameron's Conservative Party one jot! In fact it is exactly what this blog could well have predicted!

Shame? Can any imagine Cameroon's even understand the connotations of the word?

As the Czech Parliament has now approved the Lisbon Treaty the promise by President Klaus to delay signature until the last moment now becomes even more significant.

Even if the Irish vote Yes to Lisbon in a second referendum this autumn the fact that Cameron yesterday pledged to hold a British Referendum on the Treaty if it had yet to be ratified upon a Tory election victory gives President Klaus (and indeed the Polish President) every justification to withhold his signature from the Constitutional Treaty that neuters 27 Parliaments across the EU.

William Hague said yesterday that the Conservatives would not ratify the treaty ( the Nice Treaty) as it stood if they gained power. He rejected Mr Blair's assurances that it "advanced British interests" and said it was a "major step" towards a European superstate. The Daily Telegraph 19th June 2001, linked here.

William Hague demands a referendum on Lisbon to return us to the Nice Treaty - William Hague - April,2009.

Mr Hague said that, if it were not ratified (the Lisbon Treaty - blog editor) by the time of a Tory victory, there would be a referendum “in the opening months” and a Bill preparing for the vote would be ready. The Times 29th April 2009, linked here.

Clarification

If the EU is now a superstate (which it is clearly becoming) then the only honest straightforward stance for William Hague is to push for a renogiation of our entire relationship! He cannot in conscience support the present Cameron led Conservative Party stance on the EU.

A rejection of the Lisbon Treaty terms in a British referendum MIGHT result (Cameron would likely ignore the result) in a return to Britain being controlled under the terms of the Nice Treaty, with the extra penal financial contributions as subsequently conceded by the Traitor AND Liar Tony Blair in his pursuit of the EU Presidency).

Now that Mandelson and Campbell are back fully behind the New Labour project the consequences of the Michael Howard leadership will be fully exposed in the next election campaign. The over promotion of George Osborne is only the most obvious aspect of Howard's disastrous tenure.

When the full facts of the manipulated leadership election which put Cameron in position (all chronologically chronicled on my blog Teetering Tories) are properly publicised during the General Election campaign, the Conservatives will be seen to be led by a man with about as much legitimacy as Robert Mugabe has at present - will that help rid the country of New Labour?

It is the Telegraph group of papers that has removed the link from the internet which once provided the main evidence for the rigged election of David Cameron, hence that paper's displeasure with my contributions I presume.

The IMF has said so; the European Commission has said so; the markets have said so – which is why our currency has devalued by thirty percent. And soon the voters too will get their chance to say so. They can see what the markets have already seen: that you are the devalued Prime Minister of a devalued government.

I fully understand why Conservative Home as an individual's blog has never linked my blogs but as this is the official party blog surely you should not ignore a specialist, long-standing blog entirely devoted to the policy choices facing the main opposition party within the UK

(Typically for the Tories the e-mail would not send with an overseas post code, I therefore had to manufacture one in the UK format, and these people want to run the country??)

There is no link to one of the longest running commentaries on the party and its policies "Teetering Tories" which had its first posting on 17th October 2003 on the leadership of IDS and has been following the faltering progress ever since.

Can the Conservatives not contemplate policy debate or constructive criticism? Try the link and surf the blog's archives and ask yourself - "What kind of party tries to censor criticism - surely not one upholding Conservative beliefs?

Format Change

I have updated the format of this blog in anticipation of shortly being able to announce that either the Leader of the Party, David Cameron, or his Shadow Chancellor, George Osborne, will shortly mount their first effective attack on the economic policies of the Labour Government over the past 12 years.

I anticipate such an amazing event based on the Ernst & Young ITEM Club report on the economy which effectively states that Britain is now doomed and is surprisingly enough being widely reported, even in the UK, on both radio, TV and the press!!

(Probably have to wait until Monday as I forgot for a moment that Cameron does not do weekends!)

Haven't either of them noticed that the Bank of England has warned this morning of a total failure of bank bail-outs and warns of "Tensions in the financial system are approaching the fever pitch they reached before the collapse of Lehman Brothers last October"

There are more important things in this world than booze and entertainment. Why isn't Cameron dealing with that

Haig and Fox for Cameron

My warnings of MP's opportunism of yesterday (see posting beneath this) were well timed as today's Sunday Times reports both William Haig and Liam Fox today declaring for the empty vessel.

Remember that this is the same William Haig who once commanded respect in the party and country yet without shame wrote in his News of the World column in the early part of this year that he was making far too much money on his US speaking tours to consider an active role either within the party or then certain General Election campaign. What weight should party members put on the recommendation of such a man?

Remember also that the timing of his declaration seems curiously timed to have possibly been made with the advantage of some knowledge of the early voting results, if these are being deliberately slanted by those pulling the party strings, a travesty of democracy could be underway!

If David Cameron is elected, how long will the supposed "stardust on his collar" or as Haig is quoted as saying " “a certain quality which was impossible to define but you know it when you see it” really last. Such qualities are best used by confidence tricksters as far as I can see.

As prospective party leader, Cameron is preparing to help Tony Blair push through a series of public service reforms that, aides say, will keep a “wounded” and “isolated” prime minister in power.

The leadership favourite signalled his support for the government against Labour rebels on greater independence for state schools, city academies, benefit reform, foundation hospitals and more private sector involvement in the National Health Service.

Although he argues that he supports Blair’s modernisation of public services because he believes it is the right thing to do, his aides pointed out it is also designed to have the political effect of making Blair look “isolated” from his party. The move comes after the prime minister faced a first Commons defeat over his anti-terrorism bill.

If Cameron becomes the opposition leader next month, it could be Tory votes that keep the prime minister in power. “It will leave Blair badly wounded if the only way he can get his reforms through is with our support,” said a senior aide.

Tories heading for oblivion?

If the headline article in the online edition of the Daily Telegraph is to be believed the Conservative Party is doomed as David Cameron, the media darling who will become its mauled and mangled victim by the next General Election were he to become Party Leader, is reported to have opened an early and large lead over rival David Davis in the leadership contest.

Such are the results of a YouGov poll which has been so manipulatively reported as to condemn the Telegraph to the lowest possible level of even present day journalism. The report may be read from this link.

To try to grasp the degree of distortion it is necessary to recall the basis on which YouGov polls. Anybody can join YouGov and participate in those polls as they may wish. Is it really likely as the report seems to imply that one third of those conservative party members who have already voted are signed up as YouGov contributors. Unlike most polls published as far as I can find there is nowhere any reference to the size of the sample. Just how many conservative party members who have already voted could have been polled - it must be an incredibly small number unless there was some collusion or identification of names of those who had voted from party sources, any names thus provided could then well have been tilted towards the results desired by the Telegraph group owners and editors and/or the party establishment.

Evidence of the desired outcome of the senior party hierarchy comes later in the same report which states:

"Anne Maine, the MP for St Albans, who formerly supported Mr Davis, said she was now backing Mr Cameron, taking his support to 107 MPs - well over half the 198-strong parliamentary party.

Michael Ancram, the party's deputy leader, said the backing of a clear majority of Tory MPs was an important signal to party members."

The Gaderene rush to support the dubious, media reported front-runner by sitting MPs and their European counterparts is understandable when looking at the calibre and motives of the present elected party and remembering that were Cameron to win at only 39 years of age and given his apparent lack of policies and therefore presumably either character or principles, future advancement within the party is likely to be lost pretty much forever as far as the present entire elected members are concerned.

The announcement by the comparatively youthful Owen Paterson MP for David Davis is particularly commendable in this regard.

This blog quite correctly predicted the outcome of a Michael Howard leadership takeover - I feel equally certain that if the Tories go for Cameron then it will be the end of their party. How best to then restore decency and democracy to British politics will then become an even trickier problem.
